Christopher Moore publishes two articles, receives grant

Christopher Moore, associate professor and chair of anthropology, published an article in the Midcontinental Journal of Archaeology and co-authored research published in Early Georgia.

Moore is the single author of “An Examination of Terminal Archaic Bone and Antler Implements from the Firehouse Site, Dearborn County, Indiana,” which appeared in the Midcontinental Journal of Archaeology .

The Early Georgia article, “A Systematic Survey of the Multi-Component Site 9Mc501 on Sapelo Island, Georgia,” published by the Society for Georgia Archaeology, was the master’s thesis of Ethan Bean ’15 (M.S., anthropology), who now works in the Baltimore District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Co-authors are Christopher Moore and Richard W. Jefferies (University of Kentucky).

Moore also received a grant from Indiana Humanities to pay for a public archaeology booklet highlighting his work at the Baum’s Landing site in Carroll County, Indiana.
