On February 12th, 2018, the Burmese American Community Institute of Indianapolis will be hosting the 2nd annual Myanmar Union Day Festival. This festival celebrate the diverse cultural groups from Myanmar and also the signing of the Panglong Agreement. It is a great opportunity for non-Burmese residents of Central Indiana to enjoy and learn about the beauty and uniqueness within each cultural group from Myanmar. The Panglong agreement, signed February 12th, 1947, commemorates Myanmar’s freedom from Great Britain and also the unification of the various ethnic groups around the country. The event agenda includes cultural dances, ethnic fashion shows, music, entertainment, traditional sweets and more.
The Myanmar Union Day Celebration 2018 will be held on Monday, February 12, 2018 from 5:30pm-8:30 pm at the University of Indianapolis—Esch Hall, Ransburg Auditorium.
