Jim Pennell promotes “Local Vino” during Ohio book tour

Jim Pennell, professor in the Department of Sociology, promoted his book “Local Vino: The Winery Boom in the Heartland” (Univ. of Illinois Press), released this year, at two events in Ohio last week. He gave a short talk and signed books at Quail Crossing Cellars, in Columbus, Ohio, on Thursday, Sept. 14th.

To cap off the evening, he broke out his guitar and harmonica and played a few wine-related songs. He then signed books at the annual fish fry and wine auction at Markko Vineyard, in Conneaut, Ohio, Saturday afternoon, Sept. 16th.
