Five University of Indianapolis students were selected by Z Publishing House for the 2017 Indiana’s Best Emerging Poets anthology:
- Sara Perkins ’20 (English, professional writing): "I was very honored for Z Publishing House to contact me about submitting to their anthology. It’s a great opportunity to get my foot in the door to the publishing world. It’s a really cool experience."
- Natalie McCann ’19 (English, creative writing): "I was surprised to hear from Z Publishing but thankful they found me. I hope this opens doors to future publications. It's hard for poets to get recognized so it's a risky passion."
- Rochelle Bauer ’19 (actuarial science): "I think it's really neat to be published in something bigger and I feel lucky to be considered one of "Indiana's Best Emerging Poets!"
- Shauna Sartoris ’20 (English, professional writing): "It was an honor to be featured by Z Publishing House in their Indiana's Best Emerging Poets anthology. This is the first time I have been published outside of the University of Indianapolis, and it feels like such an accomplishment because I have been working towards publication since I was young. I feel like I have a foot in the door now, and the confidence to continue pursuing the world of publication."
- Catherine Watness ’18 (English teaching): "This is my debut appearance in an anthology. I am so grateful to Z Publishing House and I hope this is the start to a successful career as a writer."
