Center for Aging & Community promotes Indiana Alzheimer’s Virtual Advocacy Week

Art therapy at Joy's House, Indianapolis

While not every older adult will experience Alzheimer’s disease or other types of dementia, the existence of dementia is a reality in the world today. Even those who don’t work in healthcare may find themselves affected by people with dementia — a bank teller or grocery store clerk working with a customer, a realtor working with a client, maybe even just a neighbor living next to someone with dementia or the many caregivers who are caring for someone with dementia.

For that reason, the University of Indianapolis Center for Aging & Community encourages the UIndy community to get involved with the Indiana Alzheimer’s Virtual Advocacy Week.
Here are the planned events:

Opening Ceremony: Monday, Feb. 1st 6 p.m. ET

Hear from guest speakers and our Indiana Advocacy Team for our Call to Action

Virtual Day of Action: Wednesday, Feb. 3rd (All Day)
You’ll receive alerts with requests to email, post on social media, or call your state legislator about our legislation

Thank You Celebration: Friday, Feb. 5th 12 p.m. ET
We’ll end the week by celebrating our accomplishments, hearing stories from advocates, and looking towards the future
